DIAMONDS VOICE celebration event (September 2017)

On the 4th September we had our annual celebration meeting to recognise the

contributions made by our panel to the DIAMONDS research programme. A series

of presentations by members of the research team brought the panel up to speed

on the progress of the various projects that they have advised on, and our new

project, EMERALD, was introduced. This study involves qualitative interviews

with patients, relatives and healthcare professionals, and the PPI panel will play a

key role in advising on the project for the next two years.

Specifically, we will be asking the PPI panel to comment on project documentation such as the invitation

letters, information leaflets and consent forms that will be used in the project with patients and relatives. Additionally,

we will be looking for advice on the questions that we're aiming to ask in research interviews as we seek to develop

understandings of the lived experience of SMI and diabetes. As the project progresses the panel members will

provide input on the interpretation of results and findings and the ways in which the findings can be fed into practice.
